Jennifer Lopez Responds to Confusion Over the 'Orange Drink' She Mentions in Viral Video About Her Bodega Order

Jennifer Lopez set a record for that orange drink from her childhood.

In 2022, Lopez recalled her “go-to” bodega order in an interview on “73 Questions” for Vogue, saying it’s “ham and cheese on a bagel with an orange drink, if you know you know.” Her comments recently resurfaced on social media, leaving people confused about the orange drink.

The “Jenny from the Block” singer — who just announced her Delola Light Margarita cocktail — finally cleared the air in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar on Wednesday, May 29.

“Haha, I know there’s been a lot of talk about it,” Lopez said when asked about the mystery drink. “But orange drink is basically… it’s just plain orange drink. It came in a little plastic container with a little aluminum foil over it. And it wasn’t called anything but orange drink or grape drink or whatever.”

She went on to say that the drink came in orange, grape and fruit punch flavors.

“And that’s why I said, ‘If you know you know,’ because you bought it at the bodega, and I used to go after school and get it for like… I mean, this was many, many years ago, it was worth 25 cents , and I got it with a bag of chips and that was my after school treat,” Lopez said.

The Satin the actress didn’t remember the brand of drink, but many speculated that Little Hug was Fruit Barrels, Sunny-D, Fanta or Jarritos orange soda — although only Little Hug was packaged with a foil lid as Lopez described.

Lopez celebrates another exciting drink: her own! In a video on Instagram, she introduced the new flavor of her ready-to-drink brand, Light Margarita. The teaser clip showed her strutting towards two glasses of Delola while wearing a sexy green two-piece ensemble.

“Whether you’re bringing a bottle to a barbecue during the warmer months or entertaining and gifting at gatherings, the convenience and elegance of Delola cocktails frees you up to spend more time with friends and family,” she said in a statement.

In an interview with PEOPLE in 2023, Lopez talked about starting Delola and how the company aligns with her lifestyle. “I think I became a bit less of a workaholic and enjoyed life a bit more…it was something I really, really wanted to do,” she said.

In addition to Light Margarita, the brand offers three other low-calorie cocktails: Bella Berry, L’Orange Spritz and Paloma Rosa.
