Jeremy Renner Announces ‘Cathartic’ Music Collection Inspired by Snowplow Accident Recovery

Jeremy Renner looks back on his life in the past year through the song.

The Marvel star, 52, shared on Instagram last week that he’s releasing new music with a self-titled project Love and titaniumnoting the “various milestones” he’s achieved since his Jan. 1 snowplow accident.

“A collection of music we’ve written about different milestones in my recovery journey since January 1st of this year,” the actor wrote. “Love and titanium was painful, deeply healing and ultimately cathartic for me. I hope to find courage to share with all of you.”

Renner teased the cover, which was an emblem emblazoned with the project’s title. He covered most of the art with a heart emoji and added the text “coming soon” at the top of the image.

In the post, he tagged several people, including Diane Sawyer, who was the first interview with whom Renner spoke publicly about his accident.

On Jan. 1, Renner broke more than 30 bones and underwent several surgeries after being run over by a 7-ton snow plow. After his hospitalization, he kept his fans updated on his recovery.

While the public may know the two-time Oscar nominee best for his acting roles, Renner has also made a name for himself as a musician with the release of several singles since 2018 and two albums in 2020.

He recently wrote and sang “Rebel on the Road” for the soundtrack of his Disney+ reality series Renervationswhich premiered in April.

Jeremy Renner says he’ll keep plow after crash: ‘I just have to learn to drive it better’

Renner previously spoke to PEOPLE in 2019 about his musical beginnings, revealing that he was initially drawn to music before acting and that he taught himself piano, guitar and drums at a young age.

“My family was my first love, and then music,” he revealed at the time. “Acting came to my mind around 20. Music has always been my first love as well as anything else besides my family.”

The the Avengers the actor also shared that he creates music in his home studio in Los Angeles, telling PEOPLE that the only thing that “makes [music] the bigger thing is that I can stay here in my home and do that and be around the people I love.”

Ago Love and titanium, Renner revealed to PEOPLE in 2019 that “there’s been a bunch of music written and it’s a future thing. I’m happy to be sharing music now, which I wasn’t before.”
