Jeremy Renner Shares Selfie from Inside Hyperbaric Chamber, Says Oxygen Therapy Has 'Been a Staple in My Life'

Jeremy Renner has shared one of the treatments that helped him recover from a near-fatal snowmobile accident two years ago.

The falcon’s eye the actor posted a smiling selfie from the hyperbaric chamber on Instagram on Sunday, January 19, calling the treatment an essential part of his recovery. “Running a business; this office of mine has been such a blessing and an absolute champion for wellness,” Renner, 54, captioned the photo, which shows a white tube under his mouth.

He added: “Hyperbaric at 2 atmospheres has been the main thing in my life for 20 months. 02 is necessary for our life and our longevity…. Pull up a chair and let’s talk about all the good things in life today!!! #MyNextBreath.”

According to the Cleveland Clinic, hyperbaric chambers help heal damaged tissue faster by supplying patients with 100% oxygen inside a specially designed chamber, encouraging the growth of new skin, blood vessels and connective tissue.

“Hyperbaric at 2 atmospheres,” meanwhile, is short for “atmosphere”—the pressure inside the chamber, John Hopkins Medicine explained.

On January 1, 2023, Renner was run over by a 14,300-pound car. snowplow in Reno, Nev., suffering “blunt trauma to the chest” and other injuries. He was trying to save his nephew from being hit by a plow when it pulled him under the tracks.

Earlier this month, on January 1, Renner reflected on the two-year anniversary of the accident, calling it “my birthday again” as he shared his gratitude to the medical and emergency responders who saved his life.

“I send my love, respect and gratitude to the army of people it took to bring me back together,” he wrote. “Thank you to every nurse, doctor, EMS… I literally owe you my life.”
