Dupri performed with Usher on Sunday wearing Louis Vuitton socks that the internet compared to children’s clothing
Most eyes were on Usher during the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show — but some people were totally in tune with guest star Jermaine Dupri and his socks.
Yes, his socks.
Dupri, 51, who rocked the crowd before Usher launched into “Confessions” and “Burn,” wowed the Internet with his outfit, specifically his socks.
The rapper wore black shorts with black loafers – which meant his white socks were on full display. X (formerly Twitter) was quick to react to the ankle socks, comparing them to something a child would wear.

One x a user asked why Dupri had “bobby socks” while another x the user simply dropped a bunch of pictures of pleated baby socks for comparison.
Another person wrote“Why does Jermaine Dupri wear frilly socks on Christmas like I did as a three-year-old.”
After all the jokes, Dupri took to Instagram on Monday to show off the socks in question, capping it off with a Louis Vuitton logo. “Haaa!! ok, I don’t have time for you last night, I was too drunk, me and my friends performed at the Super Bowl!” he wrote. He added that the jokes were “funny as hell” and tagged Pharrell Williams, the current menswear creative director at Louis Vuitton.
He’s not done, though. Dupri returned a few hours later with a screenshot of the Spotify chart (and another shot of his sock) on Instagram. He wrote: “You want to talk about socks let’s talk about it I got 5 songs in the TOP 10 Let’s talk about it!!”
Dupri was pointing to Usher’s songs he worked on with the “My Boo” artist, whose songs climbed the charts after Sunday’s Halftime Show in Las Vegas.

Dupri also spoke with Party tonight on Monday, telling the outlet, “It’s really, really funny, but, you know, those Louis Vuitton socks I had on — I don’t know what everyone’s talking about.”
But apart from the viral moment, he said ET that it was “incredible” to be on stage with his colleagues who had become his close friends over the years of working together.
“It’s amazing to be up there with your friends and to be up there with people that you actually started,” he said. “When we first worked, [it was] the first time he’s had a No. 1 record, so to be up there was… definitely, definitely amazing.”
Usher was joined on stage by Alicia Keys, HER, Lil Jon, Ludacris and Will.i.am.
