Jerry O’Connell Thinks Wife Rebecca Romijn Might ‘Be into’ His Post Malone Halloween Costume (Exclusive)

Jerry O’Connell has to live out his rapper dreams of cropped facial hair for Tuesday’s Halloween episode Conversation — and could be aiming for a more permanent Post Malone-inspired look.

O’Connell, 49, transformed into the “Better Now” singer for the themed episode of the talk show and told PEOPLE how he imagined his wife Rebecca Romijn, as well as their two daughters, twins Dolly and Charlie, 14, would react to the costume.

“My wife doesn’t know yet,” he said of the complete costume. “I’m going to surprise her.”

He thought Romijn, 50, “might like” the look – which consists of pasted-on facial hair, full-body tattoos and a wig.

“I might have to change who I am! I might have to bring some facial hair into my life and I might have to get some ink — this might be the new me,” O’Connell joked.

The transformation into Post Malone (real name Austin Richard Post) took O’Connell “three and a half hours,” but it was worth every second for Billions actor, who says he’s “a big fan of his music.”

“I love Posty. I have teenage daughters, so Posty is on heavy rotation in our car and in our lives,” O’Connell said.

Plus, the costume gave him an excuse to try out another one of his lifelong dreams. “I don’t have any ink on my body and this is a fun way to live vicariously through Posty’s ink in a way. If I was going to do ink, I’d do it as Posty,” he said.

After taping the Halloween episode of the CBS daytime show, which he joins as a co-host in 2021, O’Connell’s plan was to keep his costume and pick her up right after school.

He hoped that casting his twin daughters as “Post Malone” would mean he was treated “with a little more respect”.

“My children are high school freshmen. I’ll be waiting outside their high school. Normally I sit in my car and wait for them to come to me, but I definitely park, get out and stand in front of the school,” he said, adding that he “might even call out a Posty” if he really stood out among them. parents at the pick-up.

Despite his jokes about his family’s possible reactions to his costume, O’Connell also took a moment to praise his wife of 16 years, Romijn, who he described as “the most important thing in my life”.

“Rebecca is always my decision,” he said. “She’s a great woman – she’s a better mum. She is an even better friend. I really love her.”
