Jessica Simpson Celebrates 6 Years of Sobriety: ‘I Own My Personal Power’  

Jessica Simpson is celebrating the latest milestone in her sobriety journey.

Simpson, 43, marked six years of sobriety this month. The mother of three celebrated her Instagram Story milestone with a post on Thursday linked to a post dated November 1, 2021, with a photo of The Simpsons from November 1, 2017.

The original post was in celebration of the singer’s fourth anniversary of sobriety. The The Dukes of Hazzard the star is seen sitting with the sun’s rays illuminating her face as she looks away from the camera in the photo.

“This person in the early morning of November 1, 2017 is an unrecognizable version of me. I had so much self-discovery to unlock and explore,” Simpson captioned the post.

“I knew that in this moment I would allow myself to reclaim my light, show victory over my inner self-esteem struggle, and bravely fight this world with piercing clarity,” she continued, adding that in order to achieve those goals, “I needed to stop drinking alcohol. ”

Simpson admitted in the headline: “Drinking wasn’t the problem. I was. I didn’t love myself. I did not respect my own power.” After four years of her journey, she celebrated how she managed to be “good with fears”.

“I own my personal power with mental courage,” she concluded in 2021. “I’m wildly honest and pleasantly open. I’m free.”

In addition to sharing her Instagram Story today, Simpson also posted a photo with her daughter Maxi Drew. “Choose to be kind today because you never know how much someone might need it 💚💚💚,” she wrote.

Last year, when Simpson celebrated five years of sobriety, she said, “I’m capable of almost anything I care enough to commit to. I’m present. I’m deeply inspired. I’m determined. I’m honest. I care about other people.”

She continued to encourage others not to give up on themselves and to stay true to themselves. “I’ve made it through this chaotic life so far. Nothing and no one is going to take my joy away from me. You could come close, but it’s mine. It should be yours too,” Simpson concluded.

Simpson’s close circle of friends came over, and she told them, “I’ve got to stop. Something’s got to stop. And if it’s alcohol that’s doing this and making things worse, then I’m quitting.”
