The mother of three spoke openly about her health journey. Last year, she marked six years of sobriety with a post on Instagram Stories that linked to a post from November 1, 2021, with a photo of herself from November 1, 2017. She wrote above the upload, “6 years sober.”

An Instagram post in 2021 included a lengthy caption in which she recalled why she decided to get sober.

“I knew that in this moment I would allow myself to reclaim my light, show victory over my inner battle of self-esteem, and bravely fight this world with piercing clarity,” the post’s caption read. “Personally, in order to do that, I had to stop drinking alcohol because it made my mind and heart go in the same direction and I was, frankly, exhausted.”

“I wanted to feel the pain so I could wear it as a badge of honor. I wanted to live as a leader and break cycles in order to move forward – never looking back with regret and remorse for any choice I made and would make for the rest of my life here in this beautiful world,” the caption continues.
