Jessica Simpson Shares Adorable Photos of All Three Kids on Their First Day of School

Jessica Simpson has mixed feelings about back-to-school season.

On Friday, the singer (43) shared several photos on the first day of school in which her son Ace Knute (10) is in a red polo shirt and khaki shorts, and daughters Birdie Mae (4) and Maxwell Drew (11) are in the same style of blue plaid and white uniforms as they stood in various poses.

“We think we’re excited for our kids to finally go back to school until they bring home bundles of homework and then realize we’re back to school too 😜,” Simpson joked in the caption.

The second and third photos put Birdie in the middle of her two older siblings as they hold her upright in one shot and hold her hands in the next.

The final image shows a smiling Birdie posing behind the Simpsons’ dog, Dixie, who joined the group in 2018.

As summer draws to a close, Simpson can have more freedom with husband Eric Johnson. In late August, the mom of three spoke to Access at PetSafe’s Unleashed event in celebration of International Dog Day where she opened up about the reality of being married with children.

“It’s good to maintain romance there, even with three children on top of your head. It’s hard, but they’ll leave me notes, because they’ll wake up earlier than me. They’ll leave me letters,” she shared.

“There are a lot of things that make me say, ‘I can’t wait to get my hands on it later.’ I think you have to have those little things as a couple that are just between you.”

“And now it’s like our kids are so old. Like, wow, they’ll be in time for the headscarf. So like, what do we do, how do we do this? Where do we go?” she joked.

Simpson said they are “in denial” that the incident happened, “as is the child, so it’s not really something we’ve talked about.”

“I just had to introduce my middle child to certain things, but luckily he didn’t get in,” she added. “I think he would be standing there saying, ‘What are you doing?’ He would literally talk to us.”
