Family Law returns to The CW on Friday, July 7 – and the Jewel Staite star has teased that Abigail can finally “find her way” and meet new love.
At the end of the first season, Abigail realizes that her husband Frank (Luke Camilleri) is cheating on her, after she spots him in the elevator with Felicity, and as the second season opens, people revealed that she is still struggling with a heart attack. . But speaking to TV Line, Jewel shared that fans can expect a new Abigail in the new episodes, someone willing to “feel loved”.

“I would say that Abby will eventually come back to life, thank God,” Jewel said.
“She needs a little love and joy in her life. She needs to feel loved. I think it’s been a long, long time since Abby felt that way, like someone appreciated who she was. and she finally felt the same way again. It was a really great moment for her to find her rhythm and feel the way she wanted to.”
The film follows Abigail Bianchi, a recovering alcoholic who is forced to work at her estranged father’s company after she embarrasses herself in the courtroom and is fired. As an attorney who has never practiced family law before, the series follows Abigail as she begins to navigate sobriety as a mother of two and builds relationships with her siblings.

The second season premieres on The CW on Friday, July 7, 2023, but Global has given the green light for a third season in Canada, where the series originated.
In the first season, Abby and Frank’s relationship deteriorates when she realizes that they both see her as “the bad guy” and that Frank is not responsible for her behavior.

“It’s kind of liberating,” Jewel continued. “As someone who could play her, I read some of these scripts and I thought, ‘Finally, it’s okay! They’ll eventually let him!” You know, he deserves to be yelled at.”
Victor Garber plays Abby’s father; he is also the father of Daniel Svensson (played by Zach Smadu), Abigail’s half-brother and lawyer, as well as the father of Genelle Williams’ character Lucy Svensson, Abigail’s half-sister Her mother died when she was 8 years old.

Back from Family Law took place in the wake of the CW’s changes as it canceled some performances; officially renewed Superman & Lois for a fourth season of 10 episodes and All American: Homecoming for a third season of 13 episodes.
The network will also become the first American television station to broadcast Selected, the popular bible series, starring NCIS: Yasmine Al-Bustami of Hawaii. All three seasons will begin airing on July 16th at 8/7c.

Season four is currently in production and the show telling the story of Jesus, played by Jonathan Roumie, through the eyes of his followers, including Matthew and Mary Magdalene, will run for seven seasons.
