“Miles Pfeffer shot and killed Temple University police officer Christopher Fitzgerald near the Philadelphia campus on February 18, 2023. Miles was arrested by Philadelphia police at his Buckingham Township home on February 19. of 2023, after 7 am.
State prosecutors said,
“Police used handcuffs on the downed officer to arrest the suspect.”
Temple University said,
“Officer Christopher Fitzgerald was shot and killed Saturday in Philadelphia while responding to a robbery.”
Miles will face charges of murder, robbery, carjacking and firearms offenses.
said District Attorney Larry Krasner in a statement on February 19, 2023.
“Pfeffer also allegedly attempted to steal Officer Fitzgerald’s gun and searched his pockets as the officer lay on the ground fatally wounded. In addition, Pfeffer allegedly committed a carjacking a short time later near the scene of the officer’s murder.”
Christopher was rushed to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Christopher has been with the University Police since October 2021.
