JKBOSE Syllabus for Class 9, 10: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has rationalized the syllabus and marking scheme for Class 9 and 10 subjects including Mathematics, Science and Social Science. The rationalization took place in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) for the academic year 2023/24.

The JKBOSE Class 10 syllabus for three subjects has been rationalized, according to the JK Board. However, the method of awarding grades will not remain the same as last year. The JKBOSE Class 9 syllabus and grading system have been changed.

10th Class Board Exams 2024: Important Subjects, Syllabus & Evaluation

According to the study scheme, the important subjects for class 10th board exams 2024 are General English, Urdu or Hindi, Mathematics, Social Science (Economics, History, Political Science, Disaster Management, Road Safety Education and Geography) and Science (Chemistry, physics and biology).

Further, the board announced that the syllabus and assessment for English, Hindi and Urdu subjects will remain the same for class 9 and 10.

According to the scoring scheme, the internal assessment has a weight of 20 points for all compulsory subjects and 80 points for the written exam.

JKBOSE Elective courses

According to the NEP 2020, the evaluation system for elective and supplementary subjects and children with special needs (DSP) was changed. “Repetition of the compulsory language/subject is not allowed while choosing the additional/elective language/subject,” reads the class 10 syllabus brochure.

  • Professional courses
  • Health and physical culture
  • Art education
  • Work experience

CWSN subject selection

A list of alternative courses is provided below. CWSN can choose one of these courses instead of General English, which is a compulsory subject. Painting and art and drawing options are also available to them.
