Joan Collins, 90, Says She’s Had ‘Nothing Done’ to Her Face: ‘I’m Needle-Phobic’

In a recent interview with GuardThe 90-year-old actress and writer talked about the skin care tips she lives by and revealed why she’s never had cosmetic procedures.

“I didn’t do anything,” she told the newspaper when she received a compliment about her skin. “I couldn’t do all that. First of all, I have a phobia of needles. My mother told me to hydrate and use a night cream.”

The Dynasty star noted that she also stays out of the sun and has passed on the same advice to her daughters.

Collins also took the same approach when it came to fashion. In April, she took to Instagram to show off a stylish outfit based on a 1980s Saint Laurent leather jacket she’d kept for years. The post included photos of Collins wearing a jacket with a sheer black and white striped shirt, black pants and knee-high boots.

She captioned it: “Looking for a #wisteria that blooms only in #spring, wearing @ysljaknet from my #80s#shopping closet … wait! Looks like #hubby found it!”

Collins explained in an interview with The Sunday Times that he does not believe in getting rid of old pieces of clothing.

“You know, they say if you have something and haven’t worn it in a year, get rid of it? I don’t believe that,” she said. The columnist revealed that some of the clothes she was holding on to were from her time Dynasty.

“Oh, when I was doing that Dynasty, Sometimes I would go to Paris for Dior,” she explained. “I knew [Gianni] Versace very good. Versace gave me a few nice things that I still have.”

The Golden Globe winner added that some of the items she received from the founder of the Italian fashion house included a “black leather jacket covered in large gold coins” and a “felt crossover skirt with a large embroidered dragon on it.”
