Love is in the air for Joe Manganiello and Caitlin O’Connor!

The source is close Time to win actress, 33, tells PEOPLE that she and magical mike the actor is officially “dating” and they are currently “out of town together” spending time outside of Los Angeles.

“They are both very funny together. He laughs at her a lot because she will make these funny jokes,” says the insider. “She’s really funny. So sweet and smart. And it’s cool. He’s cool as s—.”

The relationship update comes after another source told PEOPLE earlier this month that the couple first met at a small, “off-the-record” party following the premiere of the HBO drama about the ’80s Los Angeles Lakers’ heyday.

An insider noted that Time to win The bash was “the first time they met in a hot tub and they talked the whole time.”

Manganiello and O’Connor were “casually seeing each other at this point,” a source added at the time, sharing that O’Connor was a “lovely girl” and Manganiello “seemed like a great guy.”

Not long after, the duo — who have been quietly seeing each other around LA, according to an insider — were spotted in September and later photographed leaving Gold’s Gym in Venice, California together after a workout and driving away in his car, according to Page Six.

A source told PEOPLE at the time that the couple “had been going through ups and downs for a long time,” even though they “always looked good in public.”

Despite their mutual love and respect, the insider added that Vergara, 51, and Manganiello “are vastly different in terms of style and what they like to do, although during their marriage they each tried to put the other’s interests ahead of their own to make it work.”

Following the split, Manganiello revealed a new tattoo honoring his Armenian heritage while in Brentwood, California.

A photo posted by artist Ruben Malayan on Instagram gave more details about the meaning behind the body art. In Malayan’s post, Manganiello posed close to the camera, showing off a large word written in black ink on his forearm.

The artist also revealed that the new tattoo reads “Хрештак”, which means angel in Armenian.
