The last episode left Joan to choose between Chock and Guy, who Joan proposed to with great feelings.

But before Guy could meet her family, she went to his hotel room and broke things off.

Because of this, Joan was ready to tell Chock that she loved him.

When Joan and Chock met on the beach, Chock started by telling Joan how much he loved her.

“I am so absolutely blessed to be in your life and you to be in mine,” he began. “We had a magical trip. It was absolutely amazing. And you are the most gifted, selfless woman I have ever met.”

He told Joan that he would honor her late husband by loving her every day. “That’s the most important thing to me. And Joan, you’ll never be invisible to me. I’ll tell you I love you every day, I promise.”

He concluded: “I still think I’m in a dream and I’m about to wake up. But Joan, I love you and I want you in my life.”

Joan told Chock that a year and a half ago she decided she needed love in her life. “Ever since our first date at Disneyland, I thought I saw a future with you. And it’s the first time I’ve actually envisioned a future with someone else in a very long time,” she shared.

When Chock left because of her mother’s death, she said she was “worried” he wouldn’t come back. “That’s when I realized I couldn’t have done this trip without you,” Joan said. “You made me feel comfortable, you made me feel safe, I felt like we could care for each other and I knew you would never hurt me. That’s when I start to imagine our future a little more vividly.”

“We are living proof that no matter what life throws at you, there is still hope, even at our age. I have waited until this moment, in this incredible location, to tell you that I love you and that I want to spend the rest of my life with you . I want to wake up next to you in the morning and I want to kiss you when I go to bed at night.”

Then Chock got down on one knee and asked a question. “I’ve been waiting forever to do this,” he said. “Joan, will you marry me?”

“Of course I’ll marry you,” Joan replied.

“I evolved a lot during the season,” she said. “I came there thinking I was so ready to find love, and then I realized it was a much different path than I thought it would be. But I feel like I’ve grown up and I don’t think I’d ever be where I am today if I hadn’t done this, because it gave me the motivation to go through some of those emotions quickly because I wanted to end it with someone.”

Joan added that she ended up “exactly where I should have been”.
