Jodie Sweetin may not have ended up auditioning Doctor Odysseusbut she still managed to get into the show (almost)!
In the latest episode of the new Hulu medical drama, Dr. Max Bankman (Joshua Jackson) gives a nice nod Full house — and specifically, Sweetin’s character Stephanie Tanner — and the actress, 42, reacted to their rewatch podcast, How rude, Tanneritos!.
To kick off the latest episode of the podcast, Sweetin asked her co-host i Full house co-star Andrea Barber, “Can we have a quick chat about the music of Full House on Doctor Odysseus?” — earning an enthusiastic, “Is that so? What? Yes! Yes!”

The Full house the nod Sweetin is referring to comes as Max, a doctor on a luxury cruise ship, plays strip poker with the ship’s captain (Don Johnson) and some of the crew, eventually winning the game with a one-line move that doubles as a nod to the beloved sitcom.
After the captain discovers three “cowboys” – or kings – Max fakes them out using Stephanie’s most famous line.
“How rude,” begins the doctor, “the mailman Stephanie Tanner on my favorite sitcom Full house.”
“I haven’t seen the whole episode, but I understand Joshua Jackson is the doctor on the cruise ship?” Sweetin asked further How rude, Tanneritos! as Barber, 48, added, “I didn’t even know this show existed until this clip.”
But Sweetin did! “I was randomly supposed to audition for it,” the actress revealed on the podcast, “but I was supposed to be out of town… basically, Doctor Odysseus it draws me into the world.”
Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber were traumatized by this truly bizarre Full house A sequence of dreams
And after watching the clip, Barber might be sucked in, too. “That’s so great,” she told Sweetin of the scene. “So he’s playing poker with some other guys. And not only is it Joshua Jackson, it’s Joshua Jackson shirtless and sweaty playing poker.”
“This is what dreams are made of,” Barber added. “And then he says ‘Stephanie Tanner.’ He said your name!”
“He said my fake name and said ‘how rude,'” Sweetin continued, before judging Jackson’s rendition of her iconic line. “Well, here’s the thing. This was super ‘how rude’ because he let them know he had a full house… I don’t know if his voice could go that high. But it was smooth.”

After Barber declared the nod “an honor,” Sweetin revealed she still finds it funny Full house is popular enough to be mentioned in new media like the Hulu series.
“I say, ‘Yeah. No. I get it.’ We are [Fuller House]but to this day it’s crazy to me that we still refer to it,” she said. “And that it’s well-known and in some way ingrained enough in the culture that you can refer to it, or Danger where people will know what it is.”
“It’s wild to me,” she added.
