Joe Gatto Reconciles with Wife Bessy Following 2022 Split: ‘I’m Happy and Hopeful’

Joe Gatto and his wife Bessy Gatto are back together.

The couple, who married in 2013 and announced they were separating in 2022, have now reconciled, Joe, 47, announced in an Instagram post on Saturday. With a photo of the couple smiling together on the beach, Impractical pranksters the comedian reflected on their relationship and said that “with compassion, forgiveness and an open heart” he and Bessy (41) were reunited.

“10 years ago when we started, I could never have imagined the absolute crazy ride of ups and downs our marriage has been through,” Joe began his caption. “But there was always love. And me knowing that there is no one else I would want to be my person. I love your compassion, your resilience and your giggles. Thank you for this decade,” he continued. “And I’m happy and I hope we can get a few more because we’ve proven that we can do it with compassion, forgiveness and an open heart. Together. We look forward to all of this, including laughing together, making memories with our amazing family and of course… the dogs.”

Joe’s heartfelt post ended with a sweet message directly to his wife: “I love you so much Mrs. Gatto.”

Joe’s representatives did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for additional comment. Back in January 2022, the comedian shared a post on Instagram announcing that he was leaving his popular hidden camera television series truTV and that he and his wife had “decided to separate amicably.”

“Now I have to focus on being the best father and co-parent to our two amazing children,” he wrote at the time.

Joe Gatto’s estranged wife backs his comedy as ‘Impractical Jokers’ casts first episode without him

Earlier this week, Bessy shared a post on Instagram where she discussed the couple’s relationship and wrote that she wouldn’t change anything they’ve experienced. On our 10th wedding anniversary, I think about all the changes we’ve been through, good and bad. In the end, I wouldn’t change a single thing,” she captioned a photo of herself and Joe. “Everything that happens and everything we go through brings us together one step closer to where we need to be. And I truly believe that this is exactly where I am meant to be in life. I have never been happier, more content, and more hopeful for the future than I am now. On our wedding day, I thought I loved you more than could ever love you,” continued Bessy.

“Right now I see that it’s not true, now I love you more. Seeing the kind of dad you are, the patience and kindness you show, the joy you bring us, it’s the greatest love I’ve felt. Laughter, tears, ups and downs, sacrifices and forgiveness through we went through, all these things brought us to where we are today,” she added.

Bessy concluded her post by looking to the future, writing that she “can’t wait to go on new adventures with our kids, save more animals and spend more time with our amazing friends and family. This is for us to stop being babies, until our first baby is born Cannoli, to the birth of our human babies and everything in between.”

After the split, the estranged couple continued to publicly support each other. In February 2022, both Joe and Bessy shared a video on Instagram of the comedian sharing the stage with his children at his comedy show in New York — filmed by Bessy.

The couple’s children, Remington “Remo” and Milan, joined their father on stage to a standing ovation. When the end came, Remo seemed reluctant to leave the stage and the cheering audience, although his older sister eventually saw him off.

“That time Remo wouldn’t get off the stage,” Bessy captioned the video, while Joe shared the same clip on his Instagram account with a sweet message.

“I loved being able to bring my kids to work. My heart was filled with so much happiness to share the stage with these amazing little people,” he wrote. “And thanks to all the great people at the Paramount Theater for having me,” Joe added. “I can’t wait to come back.”
