Serena Pitt and Joe Amabile Get Married Again in ‘Magical’ Wedding: ‘Happiest Moment of Our Lives’ (Exclusive)

Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt are married again!

Almost a year after saying “I do” for the first time in a New York courthouse, the couple celebrated their love with a “magical” ceremony at The Cedar Room in Charleston, South Carolina.

“This time feels like the beginning of an exciting new chapter, and we look forward to continuing our life together,” Amabile, 37, told PEOPLE ahead of their Sept. 2 nuptials.

Instead of their home cities of Chicago and Toronto, Bachelor in Paradise the students wanted the “big celebration” to happen somewhere where their loved ones could make new memories!

“We wanted to pick a city for a fun weekend getaway that was accessible to most of our family and friends and had a location we loved!” Pitt, 25, told PEOPLE. “Charleston is so beautiful and as soon as we visited the city and The Cedar Room we could immediately envision our wedding there.”

“We haven’t been involved with Charleston before, but we’re very excited to make some special memories there!” said the bride, adding that she “wanted the weekend to feel like a big celebration” not just for the couple but “everyone we love.”

After choosing their location, premium drinks were the next highest priority for the 134-guest ceremony, according to Amabile.

“Premium alcohol was at the top of the list!” He said. “We wanted it to be fun, but also for our guests to be in an environment filled with fun and positive energy.”

Fittingly, the ceremony was also hosted by celebrity mixologist – Bachelor in Paradise bartender Wells Adams.

It was “super special” for the reality stars to have Adams, “a good friend of ours,” as an officiant, Amabile adds.

When deciding on the menu, the couple drew inspiration from Charleston.

Appetizers had a “Southern flair” before a plated dinner, followed by an “awesome” dessert bar, mini espresso martinis as well as some delicious late-night bites. “There will be no shortage of food at our wedding,” he added.

For the ceremony itself, Pitt wore a “simple and elegant” dress designed by Robert Bullock to walk down the aisle, a moment that was accompanied by Adele’s “Make You Feel My Love.”

For the nuptials, planned by Christine Janda Design & Events, The Cedar Room was decked out in lush greens and other earth tones — Pitt’s favorites.

“Serena loves neutral colors so that inspired our wedding color scheme and flowers,” said Amabile, noting that the greenery added to the “warm and romantic” feel of the ceremony.

After exchanging handwritten vows and saying “I do,” the couple took center stage for their first dance to Chris Stapleton’s “Joy of My Life.”

Just days before the ceremony, Amabile heard the romantic tune (“She’s sweet to me / He must be the luckiest man in the world / Did I tell you, baby / You’re the joy of my life?”) while she was out in a moment of foreboding.

“Is it a good sign that our Uber driver happens to be playing our first dance song?” wrote ua twitter.

For the evening festivities, Amabile stayed in his Todd Snyder tuxedo, while the bride changed into a “chic and glamorous” evening ensemble designed by Eisen Stein. Pitt’s hair and makeup were done by Kristen Koskella and Contour Fossa. She chose soft, beautiful waves for the ceremony and transitioned into a romantic style for the reception using Aveda Air Control Hairspray.

Her sparkling and timeless makeup look was created using matte neutrals on the eyes and her favorite sheer lipstick, Clarins Joli Rouge Brilliant, accompanied by Clarins pitaya oil to pamper the lips. The couple’s wedding bands, as well as all of Pitt’s jewelry worn during the wedding weekend events, were from Ring Concierge.

Ahead of the September ceremony, both the bride and groom couldn’t wait for their wedding weekend to begin.

“I’m most looking forward to the welcome party to kick off the weekend!” Amabile told People before the big day. “I love the pre-party on Friday nights!”

Pitt agreed with her husband, adding that “the best feeling will be when the dinner and the speeches are over.”

“We won’t have anything else on the schedule and we can fully enjoy the rest of the evening together,” she said, adding that she is “also looking forward to spending the morning getting ready with my girlfriends and family members.”

As a surprise, Pitt gifted the bridal party a Jetsetter package from his new fashion travel accessories brand Reset The Label.

According to the newlyweds — who have been going strong since they first met in Season 7 Bachelor in Paradise in 2021 — their favorite thing about each other is their sense of humor.

“And the fact that she’s my best friend,” the groom added of Pitt, who also said her husband “makes him feel so safe and supported.”

For the couple, celebrating their love with family and friends in a ceremony in Charleston was “the happiest moment of our lives,” says Amabile.

Pitt adds, “It really is such a magical day.”

After the wedding, Bachelor in Paradise students go to Italy (Lake Como, Florence and Tuscany), where they will simply “chill and do nothing together,” says Amabile.

Pitt adds, “Joe booked our entire honeymoon, right down to the dinner reservations! It will be incredibly romantic. And it suits us perfectly as big pasta lovers.”
