Penn Badgley and his serial killer persona have begun filming Season 5 Your!
In photos obtained by PEOPLE, the 37-year-old actor was seen on set and in a dressing room in New York. Badgley, who plays Joe Goldberg on the show, was seen in character striding confidently down the street wearing a black coat, maroon shirt and navy trousers. He further enriched his look with matching shoes and a gold ribbon on his toe.
In another photo, the actor was wearing a red puffer jacket with a logo that says “Rab” and khaki pants.

Netflix also confirmed in a press release on Monday that the show has begun production on season five, which promises “more exciting twists and turns.”
In the first official image, Joe is shown walking the streets of New York in his black cape. As he crosses the street in front of the Bleecker St. subway station, Joe keeps his hands in his pockets and smiles.

Last March, Netflix announced that the hit thriller would return for its fifth and final season.
“Will Joe Goldberg finally meet his doomsday? Fans of the beloved thriller will soon learn more about Joe’s fate when YOUR is returning for a fifth and final season,” the streamer teased in a press release at the time.
News about You with the renewal came shortly after the second part of the fourth season aired with one incredible fake. The last part followed Goldberg — under the pseudonym Professor Jonathan Moore — in a new, academic career abroad.
When he stepped into the circle of London’s elite, an assassin named Eat the Rich Killer began taking the lives of Goldberg’s new friends. But he was committed to celibacy in the face of his murderous tendencies, leaving his violent ways behind with his life in America.

The second part focuses on Goldberg’s unlikely friendship with another man who had a similar taste for blood. But the show asked, How sustainable is the friendship between two killers? AND, If Joe continues to fall for the beautiful women around him, will he ever be able to stop killing forever?
Badgley explained the surprising twists in season 4 British GQ. “He has to go to this place for five episodes where he wonders, ‘Is he going to be the hero we all wanted him to be?’ It doesn’t make sense when Joe becomes the hero,” he admitted. “This is the only place the show could ever go and stay relevant, stay responsible, stay intelligent, stay sensitive but true.”
The actor also shared why he believes season 5 could be the final saga inside Killer Joe’s head. “I know what [showrunner] Greg [Berlanti] he told me a few years ago as what he thought was the right way to end it,” Badgley said. “If there’s another one, it’ll be, I think, the grand finale.”
