Joe Jonas shares an awkward encounter with fans he had on the road.
On Saturday, the 34-year-old entertainer took to Instagram to share a video from the Minnesota stop of the Jonas Brothers tour, aptly titled “Pain.”
In the video, he recounted an unpleasant moment that he will never forget. “OK, story time,” he began. “So I was leaving a brewery this afternoon here in Minneapolis and someone stopped and asked for a photo. We took a photo; it’s very lovely.”
Then the seemingly smooth meeting took an unpleasant turn, he explained.
“And then, on her way out, she said: ‘I wish you a good performance tomorrow’, and I said: ‘To you too.’ And she could be a performer — I don’t know,” he continued. “But it’s about the same as when you’re checking in for a flight and they say, ‘Fly safe.’ Then you say to yourself, ‘You too,’ and you just feel like you want to die inside.”
In a fun twist to Jonas’ story, said fan saw his post and responded to it.
“HAHAHAH Hi Joe, I’m from the street in Minneapolis, and yes, I’m (I guess somewhat?) a performer, and yes, I have a big game tomorrow, so thanks,” wrote a woman whose Instagram bio describes her as a sports anchor for ESPN, Fox Sports and the Big Ten Network.
She also posted her own post about the encounter on Saturday and reshared Jonas’ video. “Don’t worry, we’ve all been there,” the music superstar assured in the caption.

Earlier this month, Jonas had another nasty run-in with a female fan. In a TikTok video, he explained that he had just stopped by a store where a security guard told him he looked “crazy in person.”
“I just walked into CVS and the security guy goes, ‘Oh! Joe Jonas?'” he recalled. “And I said, ‘Hey man, what’s going on?’ and I shook his hand and he said, ‘Man, you look crazy live’.”
– I don’t know, is that a compliment? he asked.

While Jonas is used to being recognized in public, he has recently turned the tables and stepped into the role of a fan. According to another “story time” video he posted on Instagram on Nov. 4, he spotted actor-comedian Nathan Fielder at a restaurant in Los Angeles.
“Last night I noticed that Nathan Fielder was at the same restaurant I had dinner at in LA,” he explained in the video. In admiration, Jonas asked the waiter to deliver the drink Nathan for you star at his table.
“And they said, ‘You have good taste,’ which made me feel good about loving everything Nathan Fielder,” he said.
As a thank you, the comedian sent Jonas some mayonnaise. If anyone had any doubts, the “Waffle House” singer armed herself with proof – a photo of a cup of mayonnaise. “Thank you Nathan!!” he wrote the picture.
