Long before Joe Manganiello appeared in the baff in magical mikehe almost put on a Survived buff!
Said the 47-year-old actor Party tonight that he auditioned for the long-running CBS reality series early in his Hollywood career and “they wanted me on the show.”
“So, years ago. A long, long, long, long, long time ago, I was at a pool party somewhere and met someone who was auditioning for Survived when it first came out,” Manganiello recalled.
“I thought, ‘I could win.’ And they said, ‘Oh, really? Why don’t you make a tape?’ And it was summer. I was working in construction to pay the bills.”
“They said you can’t be an actor,” he explained. “Because too many actors in LA are trying it [audition] we can’t do that.”

“Somewhere, I keep trying to find it, there is my DVD Survived auditioning for the role of Joe, a construction worker from Pittsburgh,” the Pennsylvania native revealed. “And that’s me hitting the hammer.”
“But I had a pilot that I shot for a year … and you can’t be on TV and be on it survived,” he explained.
Manganiello would later play Brad Morris How I Met Your Motherwerewolf Alcide on Real blood and exotic dancer Big Dick Richie in three magical mike movies.

Survived has featured a number of Hollywood stars in its 24-year run, including Facts of life star Lisa Whelchel (who was runner-up in season 25) and actor and White lotus creator Mike White (who was runner-up in season 37).
Manganiello will gain his tropical experience as host of the new NBC series Island Agreed or Not Agreed.
“I’m so excited for this show to come out,” he said. “This is the Mount Everest of competitive programs.”

The description of the show reads: “U Island Agreed or Not Agreed, the legendary briefcases are hidden all over the island and are worth more than $200 million in prize money that they shared among themselves. In each episode, players compete in daring challenges to secure briefcases to be used in the night game Agreed or not. The player who grabs the highest value chest gets immunity and can choose a teammate to enter the Temple.”
The chosen contestant must then play a high-stakes game Agreed or not. If a player makes a “bad deal” and accepts an offer that is worth less than what is in his chosen case, he is immediately eliminated. If a player makes a “good deal” and accepts an offer that is worth more than what is in their case, the power is in their hands and they can choose who to eliminate.

Island Agreed or Not Agreed It premieres February 26th at 9:30pm ET/PT on NBC before moving to its regular time slot at 10pm ET/PT on March 4th. All episodes will be available the next day on Peacock. The series is produced by Howie Mandel, who is also a judge American talent with Manganiello’s ex-wife Sofia Vergara.
