Joey King is best friends with her sisters Kelli and Hunter King.

The We were the lucky ones the star and her sisters were raised by their parents Jamie and Terri King in Los Angeles. The couple welcomed their first daughter, Kelli, on March 22, 1992. Just over a year later, Jamie gave birth to their second daughter, Hunter, on October 19, 1993. Six years later, Joey joined the family on July 30, 1999.

Kelli was the first King sister to try her hand at acting as a child Christmas road and No problem. Hunter is also an actress best known for her work on the Daytime Emmy-winning film Young and restless.

After she became famous with the main role alongside Selena Gomez in the family comedy Ramona and BeezusJoey said it had always been her “dream” to act with Hunter. Her wish came true in 2019 when she was cast in a CBS comedy Life in pieceswhich starred her older sister.

“Hunter and I have always, always wanted to work together,” Joey said Entertainment Weekly. “We’ve talked about it countless times; it was our dream that we could do something together.”

Off the screen, the sisters remained close. In 2023, Joey married director Steven Piet, and Kelli and Hunter were bridesmaids.

Kelli and Hunter are both actors

As The Kissing Booth star, Kelli and Hunter both tried their hand at acting. The eldest sister started her acting career as a child when she starred in a television series A rude awakening and several films. Kelli also appeared in an episode of the series in 2006 Grey’s Anatomy.

Hunter is a five-time nominee and two-time Daytime Emmy winner for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series for her work on Young and restless. In 2023, she starred in a thriller Give me your eyes.

Hunter and Joey had always wanted to work alongside each other so the older sister reached out to the team behind them Life in pieces to see if there is any way to get Joey on the show.

“I [told my boss]’I don’t know if she would even be able to or if you guys have anything for her, but if there’s ever an opportunity, please put her on the show because we really want to work together!’ Hunter said Entertainment Weekly. “One day they said, ‘Hey, we’re thinking about Joey for this character,’ and the rest is history.”

Joey and Hunter also said they would love to work together again. “I hope it’s a little glimpse into the future and we can work together more,” the younger King said. “Anyone reading this who has any attraction, Hunter and I want to work more together, so put us in your s—-.”

The Golden Globe nominee even told Howard Stern that the sister duo would love to do a project about their relationship.

“One of my biggest goals in life is to do something with her,” Joey said in an interview in 2020. “We are the stupidest people when we are together. She is my favorite person. We’re so stupid and I just want to do something — or a movie about it, or a limited series, or a series — just about how stupid we are.”

Joey told Stern that when she was 16, she bought a house and lived with her mom and Hunter.

“It’s nice. Like, you know, it’s a lot all the time. It’s pleasant,” she said. “I like to come home and hear that people are home. it’s nice I find it really comforting.”

Joey also revealed that she and Hunter have been in a close relationship since adolescence.

“My sister [Hunter] the most supportive person I’ve ever met,” Law said the star. “She and I have been best friends since childhood. She and I just vibe. I love her so much.”

It’s no secret that the King sisters have a strong bond. For Joey’s 22nd birthday in 2021, Kelli took to Instagram to share a candid post about their relationship.

“One of my greatest privileges in life is being a big sister to you and Hunter,” she wrote in the caption. “You’re becoming such a wonderful adult (much cooler than I was at 22!) and I can’t wait to reminisce on more years of your life.”

In June 2021, Joey and Hunter made their bond permanent by tattooing the same ladybugs on their shoulders.

Haney, the sisters’ tattoo artist, posted about their new ink on Instagram and shared that Joey and Hunter also collaborated to donate money to the nonprofit A21, which has a mission to end slavery and human trafficking.

“Thanks again Hunter & Joey for coming and using your platform to raise awareness for victims of human trafficking. It was so nice to meet you both!” Haney wrote.

Joey and Hunter went on a reality TV show together

In addition to their brief stint together, Joey and Hunter have also tried their hand at reality TV, appearing on the Netflix baking show Nail It! in 2021

“If you want to see me and my sister Hunter fail at cooking…watch NAILED IT tomorrow on Netflix🥲😂,” Joey wrote in a 2021 Instagram post promoting the series.

The sisters went through two separate baking challenges in the episode titled “Travel Dos and Donuts.” They lost in the first round of the challenge after making saffron-flavored donuts, but had better luck in the second round when they made a hot air balloon cake.

In the end, Joey and Hunter won and donated their $10,000 prize to the UN Refugee Agency.

Joey married director Steven Pieta in September 2023. Throughout the wedding process, Hunter and Kelli were by their sister’s side as bridesmaids.

During the destination wedding in Spain, Kelli shared a behind-the-scenes look at Joey’s special day on Instagram.

Before the ceremony, Kelli posted a video of her and Joey toasting, captioning the post that she was “too excited and made all the creepy big sister videos.” She proceeded to jokingly ask Joey about the importance of the i day Bullet train star replied: “Oh today? It’s just my wedding day!”

“My little sister is married,” Hunter wrote in a celebratory Instagram post after Joey’s wedding. “I couldn’t be happier that these two found each other and now they can spend forever together🤍 truly the most amazing wedding for the most amazing people💍🥂.”

During one of the most viral stops on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, the singer premiered the music video for her song “I Can See You,” which featured guests Joey, Presley Cash and Taylor Lautner. Hunter was there for the “breathtaking experience” when Swift brought her sister on stage.

“It’s a very special experience to be on stage in front of over 70,000 people,” Joey told CNN. “I thought, ‘Get me on stage?’ [And Taylor] was like, ‘Didn’t I tell you?’ I said, ‘You didn’t tell me to go on stage.’ ”

“I started sweating and sweating and I got really nervous,” she added. “But it was amazing just to have that experience and feel that energy coming into you.”

Hunter took to Instagram to share a picture of her and Joey at the concert in matching outfits.

“In our lover and era 1989✨💖💙 Best night with the best people @joeyking,” Hunter captioned the post.

Hunter is getting married
