John Legend Says He and Chrissy Teigen Don’t Take Their Baby Nurse for Granted, Are ‘Excited’ for ‘Toddler Mode’

John Legend’s youngest children are two peas in a pod.

One difference? Esti is already going places.

“It’s really close to walking, which is pretty early,” Legend says. “She’s already crawling and standing up and leaning on the table. She’s coming up and it seems like she’s getting very close. She would be one of our first children [to walk] if she does.”

Wren, on the other hand, is busy developing his sparkling personality.

“He smiles so much. That’s our favorite thing about him,” Legenda says of her son, who was recently voted the cutest baby of 2023 by PEOPLE. “He’s such a smiley boy. He just lights up the room, he looks like a little Cabbage Patch doll.”

For a caring dad, who was busy with his solo shows, but also with recording Vote, the transition from two to four children was quite smooth.

“Of course we have help around the house, and Chrissy’s mom is here,” he says. “We have a baby nurse, so that’s obviously a privilege and something we don’t take for granted.”

The days are flying by and “I feel like we’re enjoying baby mode,” Legend adds. “But we enjoy the small, slightly older mode even more. We’re excited for that to come soon.”
