John Tory Family Members:- John Howard Tory OOnt KC, a Canadian politician, was born on May 28, 1954 and will be the 65th Mayor of Toronto from 2014 to 2023. He has led the Progressive Conservative (PC) Party of Ontario as party leader since 2004. until 2009, and from 2005 to 2007 he was the official leader of the opposition in Ontario.
Tory ran for mayor of Toronto in the 2003 municipal election after working as a lawyer, political consultant and businessman. He was defeated by David Miller.

Elizabeth and John A. Tory, chairman of Thomson Investments Limited and director of Rogers Communications, welcomed their eldest child, John Howard Tory, into the world on May 28, 1954, in Toronto, Ontario. His great grandfather founded Sun Life of Canada and his grandfather was lawyer John SD Tory.
He attended the University of Toronto Schools, a once government-supported high school affiliated with the University of Toronto. He attended the schools of the University of Toronto in the same way as his father and grandfather.
In 1975, he graduated from the University of Toronto at Trinity College with a degree in political science. He then attended Osgoode Hall Law School at York University, graduating with a law degree in 1978. He was called to the bar in 1980. He belongs to the United Church of Canada.

In the 1780s he moved to Nova Scotia. A family of Russian Jews who had immigrated to Canada six years earlier and settled in Toronto gave birth to Helen Yvonne Solomon, his maternal grandmother, in 1909, and she was born in Toronto.

The politician spoke about their first meeting in an interview with Narcity Toronto, saying: “We sat next to each other at a York University lecture 44 years ago completely by chance.
Everyone brought their lover and girlfriend to class. When they first met, Tory had “long red hair,” according to Hackett. When asked who approached him first, the Toronto mayor admitted it was his wife: “Barb literally asked me out to go have a beer at a bar in the city.”
