Johnny Depp, Will Smith and More Walk Red Carpet at Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia

The opening night of the third edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival was filled with star power, with Johnny Depp and Will Smith among the stars in attendance.

The event in Saudi Arabia opened with the premiere of the film HWJN, based on the best-selling Saudi fantasy novel by Ibrahim Abbas. A synopsis on the festival’s website explains that the film is “set in a world where jinn have crossed the traditional barrier and live invisibly among humans” and takes viewers “to a realm of imagination where everything seems possible.”

Johnny Depp movie Jeanne du Barry will be shown on Friday after debuts at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival in May. He walked the red carpet dressed in an elegant, all-black tuxedo.

Smith – who will be speaking on Saturday – was also seen arriving at the event wearing a navy suit and black dress shoes. According to The Hollywood Reporterhe was approached by many fans asking for selfies and posed as many as possible on the red carpet.

Although Sofía Vergara did not walk the red carpet, she did speak on stage during the event’s opening ceremony. She appeared on the same day that Netflix released a new trailer for her upcoming limited series, Griselda.

Other celebrity guests include Sharon Stone and Michelle Williams, according to Deadline. When he was announced as president of the competition’s jury, Baz Luhrmann (who was also in attendance) said the title was “a great honor”.
