Johnny Depp has a lasting relationship with his siblings: Daniela, Debbie and Christi.

Before Johnny was born, his mother, Betty Sue Palmer, had already welcomed two children from a previous relationship. When she married Johnny’s father, John Christopher Depp, he adopted her son Daniel and daughter Debbie. Betty Sue and John had another daughter, Christi, before Johnny was born in 1963.

Johnny was born in Owensboro, Kentucky, but when he was 7, his family moved to Miramar, Florida, where his father found work as a civil engineer.

Johnny and Daniel combined their passions for entertainment and literature and founded the production company Scaramanga Bros. in the early 90s. Bookseller.

Although Daniel worked with Johnny, most of his life was out of the spotlight. He attended the University of Kentucky, where he studied classics and European history, but eventually dropped out, Scot.

He worked a number of jobs over the years, eventually becoming a high school English teacher in San Jose, California. He taught for a decade before founding Scaramanga Bros, according to Guard.

In the midst of his various jobs, Daniel maintained his passion for writing. In his free time, he was engaged in poetry, and after a while he started writing novels. Through it all, Johnny encouraged his brother to publish his work, and Daniel says it was “maddening” for the actor to keep his writing to himself.

When he became disillusioned with working in Hollywood, he finally turned to writing and focused on his debut novel, City of losers, which he wrote primarily at Johnny’s home in France. A detective crime thriller about the dark side of fame was released in 2009 — which some readers assumed was based on Johnny’s life.

Christi was a witness during Johnny’s libel trial

In 2022, Christi was the first witness to testify during Johnny’s defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard. Christi testified about their difficult family life growing up, when she said their mother abused them and their father.

“As I got older, both Johnny and I actually, we decided that once we left, once we had our own home, we would never do anything like our childhood again. We would do it differently,” she said.

As well as testifying about their family’s volatile childhood, Christi also refuted Heard’s claims that Johnny was a violent drug addict – although she admitted she was concerned about the pain medication he was taking, per Guard.

In text messages to Heard in 2015 that were read into evidence at the trial, Christi wrote that she believed her brother needed help. “I love him so much but he needs help,” she texted Heard, followed by another message advising her to tell Johnny: “I’m scared and I can’t handle it.”

Meanwhile, Christi also testified that she was “devastated” when she heard the couple were getting married, according to The Independent.

She also alleged that Heard bad-mouthed Johnny, specifically referring to him as an “old, fat man.” Christi added that Heard was reportedly “disgusted” when Johnny was offered a campaign with Dior, claiming Heard said: “They’re about class and style and you don’t have style.”
