JoJo Siwa has her eye on rock ‘n’ roll when it comes to her style.
Speaking to PEOPLE at Christian Cowan’s Spring 2025 show on Sept. 8 during New York Fashion Week, the “Karma” singer, 21, shared which music icon she feels connected to.
“My whole life I’ve always been inspired by Freddie Mercury. I love that guy so much and I think he’s always with me in a way and as an inspiration. Definitely some Freddie look in the future,” she says.

The Queen frontman is not the only musician Siwa adores.
At the iHeartRadio Music Awards in April, Dance moms The alum has taken her edgy aesthetic to the next level with glamor that’s fully influenced by the legendary band KISS. Her outfit took the internet by storm with her exquisite outfit, which included a sparkly jumpsuit and epic rocker makeup.

Siwa’s look was so big that it caught the attention of Gene Simmons, who in an interview with TMZ called the dancer “cool” and “extraordinary” for her sartorial daring. “Anyone who doesn’t get that is just jealous, period.”
And then the moment got bigger with Chloe Fineman recreating Siwa’s KISS look Saturday night live.

Recently, Siwa also wowed Miley Cyrus, giving the princess pop in a teddy bear bra (similar to the one Cyrus wore during Bangerz era) at the Pride Disco performance in July.
“Miley gave birth to her when I was 8 years old Bangerz moment and I said, ‘All I want is to have it one day.’ I want it,” Siwa told Alex Cooper on Call her dad podcast in April 2024.
