Jon Hamm shares everything Fargosecrets behind the scenes!
During a recent panel for the FX show’s fifth season, the 52-year-old actor revealed what it took to create the prosthetic pierced nipples he wore for his role as North Dakota Sheriff Roy Tillman.

“I had to put very blue latex on my nipples, and then they poured a pair of nipples that were very realistic, which they then pierced and put over my own nipples, and we filmed those nipples. The crew doesn’t get enough credit, but there was a dedicated wart,” he said at the event, according to Diversity.
A synopsis on FX’s website describes Hamm’s character as “one of those constitutional sheriffs, rancher preachers, defenders of the American gospel.”

The synopsis also states that the character is “a man who works from dawn to dusk to graze God’s land” and is someone who believes “he is the law and therefore above the law.” Hamm stars alongside Juno Temple, who plays housewife Dorothy “Dot” Lyon.
Hamm said he was completely on board with wearing the fashion accessory because of showrunner Noah Hawley’s vision for his character.

“Noah had a pretty good sense of who the character was, and I agreed to go on that journey with him. It was fun,” he said at the panel, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
In addition to being busy working on the show, Hamm married Anna Osceola in June. The ceremony came months after PEOPLE confirmed that he Crazy people alums got engaged after two years of dating.

The couple reportedly first met on the set of the hit AMC series in 2015 before being seen together on several occasions and romantically linked in 2020.
In a conversation with PEOPLE, the actor reflected on being in a relationship with someone from the same industry.
“You’re in it, it’s your life, so you wake up and deal with what comes your way. That’s certainly the case with us. The funny thing about this career is there’s no rule book,” he said. “You really have to rely on each other for their support and any advice.”
He also referred to how they cemented their relationship status.

“I think when you understand relationships, there’s a reason why it’s a genre unto itself in television and film. It’s a bumpy road to relationships, but we’re getting better at it, I guess,” Hamm shared with PEOPLE. “I mean, I feel like I’ve figured things out in my half century on the planet. I’m in a pretty good place now. I hope I’m learning.”
