Jordan Turpin, one of the survivors of “House of Horrors”, met Howie Mandel and Heidi Klum during the American talent season 18 finale.
Turpin shared photos from the event on Instagram Thursday morning, including pictures with the two judges. She thanked Mandela (67) for inviting her to see Adrian Stoica and his dog Hurricane crown the new one AGT the winners.
“It was so nice to meet @howiemandel he was so nice to me and all his fans at the show:) Heidi was beautiful and sweet,” Turpin wrote. “The show was amazing! Everyone was so talented.”
“Thank you @howiemandel for having me as a guest. Thank you @asapashleeyy for doing my hair. I loved it, and so did everyone else,” she continued.

Turpin’s sister Jennifer Turpin commented on the post, writing: “OH MY GOD! This is sooooooo COOL!!!”
Turpin also shared additional photos leading up to her meeting the comedian and model. In new photos on Instagram, Turpin wore a shabby blue coat stitched in the shape of stars, along with black jeans, a pair of black boots and a baby pink quilted clutch.

At the time of their rescue in 2018, the Turpin siblings ranged in age from 2 to 29 years old. The 13 children suffered extreme abuse from their parents, David and Louise Turpin in their home in Perris, California, until they were rescued.
In 2019, Turpin’s parents pleaded guilty to 14 counts of felony abuse, including cruelty to a supporting adult, cruelty to a child, torture and false imprisonment, and were subsequently sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.

In 2018, Turpin, then 17, called 911 and told the dispatcher that she had run away from home because of her abusive parents. “They hit us. They like to throw us across the room. They pull our hair. They pull our hair. My two little sisters are chained up right now,” Turpin was heard telling a 911 dispatcher. The 911 call then led to a police investigation into the Turpin family.
After David and Louise were convicted, Turpin and her five siblings, identified as Jane and John Does, were placed in an abusive foster home. The Turpin siblings claimed that the foster family had a prior history of child abuse that the foster care organizations were aware of, and that they failed to act even after the children sought help.

The foster parents, Marcelino and Rosa Olguin, and their adult daughter, Lennys Olguin, were then arrested and charged with multiple counts of child abuse, and all three pleaded not guilty. Marcelino was also accused of lewd acts against children.
Because Turpin left both the House of Horrors and the Olguin home, she graduated from high school after never going to school as a child. Besides, Turpin said Good morning America In 2021, she hoped to become a motivational speaker and turn her difficulties “into something positive”.
Nearly five years after her rescue, Turpin told PEOPLE that she remains “very, very” close with her 12 siblings and “has inside jokes and has a lot of fun together.”
“After everything that happened and after the escape, I’m so protective of everyone,” Turpin, who has also built an audience on TikTok with over 1.3 million followers, said in July 2022. “They always know they have me.”
