Mourinho, 61, will now join TNT Sports to broadcast the Champions League final.

He will give an expert analysis of the clash between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.

Mourinho will be very aware of the Real team that led the club between 2010 and 2013.

He will work with regular pundits Rio Ferdinand, Owen Hargreaves and Steve McManaman.

Coverage of the European clash will be led by Laura Woods.

Commentary will be provided by Darren Fletcher and Ally McCoist.

Mourinho is still looking for his next job in football management.

The Portuguese coach was reportedly close to becoming the new manager of Turkish Fenerbahce.

It has been suggested that the club have made an approach to Mourinho in a move that would see him reunited with Fred.

He has also been linked with the role of sporting director at Saudi Premier League side Al-Qadisiyah.

Mourinho himself recently spoke about turning down a move to the Portuguese national team – something he now regrets turning down.

He said: “It’s normal that I would go with Portugal.

“I had the opportunity to go twice, but they didn’t come at the right time for me.

“I was emotional when I didn’t accept the last offer, because I decided to stay at Roma and I think I made a mistake.

“Because now Portugal has a fantastic team, one of the best, in the top five.

“I knew that, but I felt a great connection with Roma, with the fans, so I didn’t want to make that decision.”

It would be the first non-managerial role in the Special One’s recent career.

He did, however, outline the minimum requirements for his next job at the end of April.

He told The Telegraph: “All I want is that targets and goals have to be set by everyone in a fair way.

“I can’t go to a club whose goal, because of my history, is to win the title. No.

“The only thing I want is for it to be fair.

“Do you think I still have a job if I was at a big Premier League club and we were sixth, seventh, eighth in the table?

“What I’m saying is people [should] look at me as others look.

“What is important to me is whether the club has goals and that I can say that I am ready to fight for them.

“I don’t want to say realistically, but [at least] semi-realistic.

“Because when I went to Roma, no one dreamed of the European Cup final, and we made it.

“It is not possible for me to go to a club that is almost relegated, and the goal is to win the Champions League. That is good, but it is not fair.”
