Josh Brolin Teases That He Will ‘Maybe’ Reprise His ‘Deadpool’ Villain Role in Upcoming Sequel

Josh Brolin power reprise his villainous role in Dead pool franchise later this year.

The actor (56) teased this in an interview with Collider while promoting his latest film, Dune: The second part.

When asked by a journalist if he was in the upcoming third Deadpool movie, Deadpool and Wolverine, he joked, “No. I don’t know. Because Ryan [Reynolds] I dislike? I don’t know.” After a short pause, he added, “Maybe.”

So, the outcome of his status in the project is still very much unknown.

Brolin played Cable Deadpool 2which found Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson assembling a group of mutant thugs to protect a boy with mutant powers from a time-traveling cyborg.

Little is known about the film’s plot, but it follows Wolverine, who is “recovering from his injuries when he meets the badass, Deadpool,” according to the official synopsis. In the end, the pair will “come together to defeat a common enemy.”

Jackman remained tight-lipped about the film’s plot in an interview with PEOPLE in 2022. “I’ll probably have more fun with this movie than any other,” he said at the time.

“I think I’m on the set with [Ryan] every day, and the two of them on film in every city together every day… I think it’s fair to say they’re going to be hitting on each other all the time,” he added.

The first trailer for the film premiered during the 2024 Super Bowl.

Deadpool & Wolverine arrives in theaters on July 26.
