Josh O'Connor Says His Trailer While Filming Knives Out 3 Was Nicer Than His London Apartment

Josh O’Connor experienced living in an “apartment” during filming Knives out 3.

During a broad conversation with his Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery costar Daniel Craig for Diversitythe two actors recalled last summer on the set of the third part of the Netflix series — and O’Connor admitted that he may have spoiled himself a little on the set.

“Trailers! It’s the best trailer I’ve ever had in my life. It’s better than my flat in London,” he said Challengers star, 34, told Craig, 56. “And I spent a lot of time knocking on your door.”

The James Bond star reprises his role as famed private investigator Benoit Blanc in the Wake me up deadwhich Netflix previously called Blanco’s “most dangerous case yet.”

Each part starred 2019 A-lister Ana de Armas and Chris Evans. Knives out Kate Hudson and Janelle Monáe in 2022 Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. Craig was the only returning star in each film.

Aside from Craig and franchise newcomer O’Connor, Wake up dead will also act Bed actor Andrew Scott and PriscillaCailee Spaeny, along with Kerry Washington, Glenn Close, Jeremy Renner, Mila Kunis and Josh Brolin.

Close, 77, told PEOPLE in August Knives out 3 had “cast out of heaven”.

“For the next two weeks we have scenes where we’re all in the same room and I can’t wait to see what he does, what he does and what she does. It’s so much fun,” she said.

Later in theirs Diversity in the conversation, the pair also recalled working with director Luca Guadagnino on recent films — O’Connor with Challengers and Craig with queer.

O’Connor told Craig that after he saw it queerhe thought it was “an absolute masterpiece”, adding that Craig’s character (Lee) “feels deeply insecure, yet the way he walks around is completely confident.”

For Craig, “the art of masculinity” is what “made sense to me.”

“You see the love between the two of them that overwhelms everything around them,” Craig said Challengers‘ he says.

O’Connor admitted that sometimes the sex scenes aren’t as steamy as they seem: “Me and Mike [Faist] i laughed because we both kiss zendaya and are gradually kissing each other. She just pulled back and is looking. We had that kissing moment for a while, and then we opened our eyes and saw it was just us — it made us giggle.”

O’Connor also recalled how close he and Craig became while filming for Knives out 3.

“I have never experienced anything like this on a film set. We were all out of pocket for three months. Especially you and me. Most of the time, you and me,” he said.
