Joshua Jackson and Lupita Nyong’o are turning up the heat!

The actors were photographed getting cozy in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on Monday as they celebrated Nyong’o’s 41st birthday on an extended birthday trip.

In photos that E! News, the couple was filmed running into the ocean together, while another saw the two almost kissing as they hugged each other on the seashore. The couple also held hands and walked along the beach in their bathing suits.

“They were vacationing in Puerto Vallarta for Lupita’s birthday,” a source told PEOPLE. “The whole weekend they only had eyes for each other. They kept kissing, laughing and just having the best time.”

Jackson, 45, and Nyong’o were first romantically linked in October 2023 after they were spotted at a Janelle Monáe concert in Los Angeles. The concert trip seemed platonic, because now the couple appeared with other Hollywood friends.

The sighting came shortly after Jackson’s divorce from wife Jodie Turner-Smith, who filed for divorce in early October. “They are on very different paths in life,” a source told PEOPLE of the decision to divorce, adding, “It turned into an unhealthy marriage that made her unhappy.”

Nyong’o was also dating Selema Masekela at the time. She also announced their split in October.

“I lived in a lot of pain and heartbreak,” she told NET-A-PORTER’s digital title CARRIER. “I looked at my social media environment and thought I don’t want to be a part of this illusion that everything is always roses. There’s definitely a lesson to learn in this and I just want to be real about it.”

In December, Jackson and Nyong’o appeared to confirm their relationship had turned romantic when they were photographed holding hands while exploring Joshua Tree, California.

Jackson has one child, Juno Rose Diana, with Turner-Smith.
