Did You Catch Adam Sandler’s Daughter Making a Cameo in His New Netflix Movie Spaceman?

Adam Sandler’s daughters, Sadie (17) and Sunny (15), have been acting with their dad for years. They appeared in his films like Hubie Halloween and even played his children last year You are not invited to my Bat Mitzvah.

Sunny continues the tradition with a small role Space.

In the new Netflix movie, Sandler plays Jakub Prochazka, a Czech astronaut on a long solo mission in space. Unhappy while alone at home on Earth, his pregnant wife Lenka (Carey Mulligan) decides to leave him.

An alien spider creature (voiced by Paul Dano) makes his way in a spaceship and counsels lonely Jakub, who feels that his wife is slipping away from him.

Sandler’s daughter Sunny appears at the beginning of the film when Jakub holds a virtual press conference with members of the public and media.

“Greetings from the suburbs of Jupiter. I’m very excited to be able to address you from here,” says Jakub, who receives a standing ovation.

Jakub’s superior, Commissioner Tuma (played by Isabella Rossellini) then invites the astronaut to answer some questions from the “people of the world”.

The first query comes from a girl played by Sunny. “Hello. My name is Anna. I’m in the sixth grade,” she says. “And I read that you’re the loneliest man in the world.”

Before he can answer, Tuma interjects. “I think what Anna is trying to say here is that the commander is the furthest out of anyone in history. Is that what you think?”

“Does it make you sad to be so far away?” Anna then asks Jakub.

“Well, I’m some 500 million kilometers away. And yes, this is a solo mission, but I know I’ll be back soon. I’m almost halfway to my planned return to Earth, and I have so much to do. And I can talk to people from all over the world like you and mission control.”

“And your wife Lenka, of course,” says Tuma.

“We hear each other every day,” says Jakub. “What I do is for everyone at home and that makes me very proud. No, I’m not the loneliest man in the world.”

Sandler told PEOPLE in February that he and his wife, Jackie, encourage their aspiring acting daughters to watch his Space Three-time Oscar nominee costar Mulligan, for acting credits. “We say, ‘Well, watch out Carey,'” he says.

“I love Carey. Look, those things that she does in the movie, there’s no way I could do that. There’s no way I could. I just look at her and go, ‘Well, that’s just the next level of acting,'” he added. is Sandler.

“I was just trying to make sure I wasn’t bothering Carey. She is amazing. It’s so real. It’s that simple,” he said.

Sandler recalled how he was moved during one scene in which Lenka records a message to Jakub, explaining that she is leaving him.

“This scene – I wasn’t in it – but I was there that day and I watched Carey say goodbye to me. And my God, I couldn’t believe how amazing it was to watch and how deep it went,” he adds.
