Joshua Morrow was considering a career in athletics when a talent scout spotted him at a local shopping center and offered him a model for Teen and Nike magazines. Since 1994, he has played the role of Nicholas Newman in the American television soap opera The Young and the Restless. His first scenes on Y&R as Nick Newman, just coming home from boarding school, were with Nick’s sister Victoria (later played by Heather Tom).
Morrow auditioned for the role of Dylan Shaw in “The Bold and the Beautiful” before being cast as Nicholas (he was one of the two finalists, but lost his job to Dylan Neal). He was working in a restaurant and was still living at home with his mother when he took a job at Y&R. In 2002, Morrow secured a five-year contract extension with Y&R, the first for a soap at the time (before that, the longest warranty period was four years).
He was supposed to appear on the celebrity competition Secret Talent of the Stars in 2008, but the show was cancelled. Returning to his profession, he co-founded the musical trio “3Deep” with Eddie Cibrian, his best friend and former colleague from Y&R, and CJ Huyer.
