Joy Behar Gets Called Out for Going Barefoot on a Plane on ‘The View’: ‘Don’t Tell People That’

Joy Behar was put on the spot for her controversial etiquette on a plane.

During Wednesday’s episode View, comedian Matt Rogers recalled a hilarious memory when he was returning from the Bahamas on the same flight as some of the ABC talk show hosts. The Las Culturistas The podcast co-host sat down with Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Whoopi Goldberg to tell the funny story.

“You were in the front row,” Rogers says before turning to Behar, “You were barefoot on that plane.”

“Shut up,” she replies. “Don’t tell people that.” The camera then cuts to Haines, whose mouth is wide open in shock.

Rogers adds, “I said I respect that,” and Behar then defensively says, “I wasn’t walking around, though.”

Hostin interjects: “No, she wasn’t walking around, but I was sitting next to her, and you took off your shoes.”

“So what?” – asks Behar. Rogers then tells her it was a “power move,” after which Goldberg adds his two cents: “This is why I don’t hang out with them.”

“I’m a firm believer in covered feet during flight. If it’s shoes, great. If it’s socks, great,” says Jackson. “But nobody should be barefoot on a plane. If you wore sandals to the airport, bring a pair of socks with you for the flight.”

She also shared her opinion on another controversial topic among passengers – whether or not passengers should be allowed to recline their seats.

“I am not a supporter of the ban on reclining, but I think we can recline with civility and understanding that we are all in tight spaces. After you take off, glance at the person behind you before you sit back,” Jackson advised.

She continued: “If their laptop is out or they have a drink on the table, now is not a good time to sit back and it certainly wouldn’t be right to do so without giving them a heads up. During meals, be sure to return your seat if you have reclined it.”
