Joy Behar’s Vacation Request Denied On-Air by The View Producer: ‘I Want to Go!’

Joy Behar won’t be going on a Caribbean cruise anytime soon.

View host, 81, was jokingly denied her dream vacation on Thursday’s episode of the daytime talk show after she asked producer Brian Teta for some time off to set sail on the month-long Serenade of the Seas cruise.

“I would do it. Brian, can you give me nine months off? Because I would do it,” Behar said on the show. “Sounds like a great trip.”

The hosts discussed TikTok star Marc Sebastian’s viral video of Whoopi Goldberg as the godmother of the ship — which sails nine months of the year and can cost between $54,000 and $117,000.

This is the one word you can’t say on a cruise ship, according to a passenger who accidentally said it

Sara Haines weighed in, saying she didn’t think the cruise would be for her because she would “come back two sizes bigger and hungover,” while Goldberg encouraged the hosts to try it out and “see if we can get somebody who can handle it to go on ship as much time as I can.”

Sunny Hostin went on to ask Teta, “Can we go away for a week, Brian?”, to which he replied, “No.”

That didn’t stop Behar, who added: “I want to go!” But Teta refused to budge from his position, much to the ladies’ disappointment.

This does not mean that View the ladies didn’t have much fun in the sun. During the summer of 2022, the hosts vacationed at Baha Mar in Nassau, Bahamas to celebrate the show’s 25th season. Behar even seemed to relax a lot and had fun on the water slides while at the resort.

However, Behar is due to take another annual leave after taking some time off the show last month due to contracting the COVID-19 virus for the first time. “Joy is gone this week. You know why? She finally got COVID,” Goldberg told the audience on Dec. 12. “Three years, four years later, it finally caught up with her.”

View airs weekdays on ABC (check local listings).
