Julia Fox reveals all her style secrets.
During look on View On Wednesday, the 33-year-old actress opened up about her joy in wearing latex — something that stemmed from her days working as a dominatrix in a Manhattan dungeon when she was 18.
“I loved wearing latex clothes and I was really homesick,” she said.
When asked by Ana Navarro if she used talcum powder to dress in her latex outfit, The Uncut gems star revealed she no longer uses it after finding a new way to make the process easier.
“It was a little harder to get it on at first, but now I can just do it,” Fox said. “But the trick with latex is actually the lubricant. I see a lot of girls who wear latex and don’t lubricate their latex and then it has no shine!”

The revelation had the hosts and audience laughing as Navarro, 51, replied: “Julia, the trick to many things is actually lubricant.” Fox quickly agreed, replying, “Exactly! You need lube for your latex, ladies.”
Sunny Hostin added that she “learned a lot”, while Joy Behar joked: “This is advice you only get View.”

Before her latex breakthrough, Fox spoke about what she learned from being a dominatrix.
“I think before that I just had really low self-esteem,” she said. “You could have told me that I was beautiful and that, but I would always think: ‘They want something from me.’ I was already very exhausted, even as a young teenager.”
That changed when she started monetizing her beauty, something she says she was able to use as “a metric that I could really measure my worth” (even if she was only making $85 an hour doing it).
She praised the work that inspired her to become an actress. “A lot of it is role-playing, a lot of it’s cosplay. So really, that’s where I learned to act,” she said, noting that she has “5 clients a day and every one of them [would want] something different.”
“Someone wants the badass popular girl at school, some wants the nun, some wants the careless mother,” Fox said. – I had all the costumes ready.
“It is 50 Shades of Juliet!” joked Navarro.

In her new memoir, Fox opened up about her dominating past and shared new details about her life Down the drain, which is out now. Before exiting, she opened up The New York Times about what she hopes readers will take away from her story.
“The book consumed my life. Everything became book, book, book. I wasn’t going out. I wasn’t doing other things. I was doing it for myself. It felt really cathartic,” she said. “It was very important to be honest and vulnerable.”
