Julianne Hough is taking matters into her own hands! The actress (35) shared a video on her Instagram on Saturday in which she can be seen sitting in a lounge chair. “Okay,” she stated as she tousled the front strands of her hair.
While fans were probably expecting to watch Hough’s stylist work on her, the woman reached for the scissors instead Dancing with the stars alum with a shy smile.
Hough then proceeded to cut the front of her blonde hair short as her stylist praised her efforts off camera. “Nice angle!” she said to Hough.
“I need a gliding action,” Hough replied with a nod to her technique as she continued to cut a few inches off the length of her hair, really getting into the process.
“I’m cutting my own hair,” she marveled as she checked her progress in the mirror. “Oh, that’s so much fun! I like this length.”
As she finished smoothing her hair, Hough told her followers: “This is the new way, people. You come and cut your own hair. Well, at least I don’t doubt it and I just do it.” ”
As she showed off her new shoulder-length haircut and stood up to remove her cape, she added, “And that, my dears, is a seven-minute haircut.”

In the caption of the post, Hough shared what inspired her to make the change and cut her hair short.
“Out with the old energy, and in with the new,” she wrote. “It was such a funny day – it was raining so hard but the sun was shining and it was a double rainbow. It made me think about the seasons of life and the decisions we make as we go along. Hair is such an outward expression of who we are. decisions… the inner journeys we go through.”

The A safe haven star explained that the fact that the sun was shining so brightly in the midst of the rain “felt like cleansing”.
“Plus a double rainbow to show the sign of prosperity and all the life to come,” she added. “I felt like it was the right time to cut off some of the old energy and start over.”

She tagged the hairstylist, Nine Zero One’s Riawna Capri, and added the humorous hashtag, “#donttrythisathome🚫.”
Hough received tons of compliments on her new act in the comments section of the post, including several from her famous friends.
“He’s cute!! 🔥,” wrote actress Michelle Monaghan.
It looks like Hough might have a new side hustle as a number of fans have asked her to use her scissor skills on their hair. “@juleshough please cut my next hair?! 🙏🏼🤍,” one person asked.
Another joked: “@riawna is coming for your job!! 😂.”
