Tom Skerritt’s Two Failed Marriages
The East of the Mountains star married young artist Charlotte R Shanks and had one child at the age of 21. From 1957 to 1972, Skerritt was married to his first wife. The actor had difficult moments in the last years of his life. His wife is mentally ill, and he struggles to take care of their three children. Colin Skerritt, the actor’s eldest son, is still estranged from him. Skerritt’s fault for not being the current parent.
His second oldest daughter, Erin, a famous poet, sympathizes with her father and says she knows what he is going through. He took his children to the set and tried to take care of them because their mother was sick but he didn’t have time. Thus, Skerritt was a single parent until her second marriage to Susan Ellen Aran. From 1977 to 1992, the couple was married for 15 years. Skerritt and Susan have a son named Colin. In 1980, the couple bought a house on Lopez Island and started a bed and breakfast business there. On the other hand, Skerritt’s marriage to Susan did not last. In 1992, they divorced. The cause of their divorce was never revealed.

Top Gun: Maverick star Tom Skerritt met his third wife Tokashiki, a Fox studio executive, while filming Picket Fences. According to the Seattle Times, his wife was wary on the first date, but found Skerritt to be a kind-hearted and romantic person. They married in 1998. In a later interview, the Alien star commented of his wife, “she’s strong, she’s lovely.”

Skerritt became a father at the age of 86 when he and his wife adopted their 12-year-old daughter, Emi, in 2007. He describes Emi as a wonderful teenager. Skerritt’s four other children discovered their calling. His son Andy is a computer expert. Matt is a creative director and director. Collin worked as an actor and is known for Tuscaloosa (2002).
Despite being 87 years old, the actor has no intention of retiring. Instead, at the age of 88, he got his first leading role in East of the Mountains. He has worked in almost every genre of film throughout his six-decade acting career. Skerritt could be described as a workaholic.
