Forged experience certificate
Vidya reportedly submitted forged experience documents and certificates during an interview for the post of guest lecturer at the Malayalam Department of RGM Government College, Attappadi in Palakkad district on June 2, 2023. The matter came to public attention on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, when the RGM College authorities sent Vidya’s experience certificate to the principal of Maharaja College when they had doubts about the authenticity of the certificate. According to reports, Vidya had previously worked at Karintalam College in Kasaragod from June 2022 to March 2023, using the same forged certificate. The case attracted media coverage when another controversy involving Students Federation of India (SFI) state secretary Prime Minister Arsho. It was revealed that Ash’s transcript showed that he had passed the Maharaja College exam, but he did not actually take the exam. Ash, a master’s student in archeology, clarified that he did not write any paper during his third semester exams, which led to the charges against him. Maharaja College authorities concluded that this was due to a software error at the National Informatics Center (NIC). The principal of Maharaja College confirmed that Vidya had forged documents in the name of the college and confirmed that they had not hired anyone as a guest teacher in the Malayalam department in the past 10 years. In this regard, the Maharaja College authorities filed a complaint against Vidya. The Ernakulam Central Police filed a case against Vidya on a petition filed by the Maharaja’s College authorities, where Vidya used forged experience documents stating that she was a student at the college from June 2018 to March 2019 Serves as Contract Assistant Professor from June 2020 to March 2021.

According to the FIR report, the charges registered are Sections 465 (forgery), 468 (forgery with intent to deceive) and 471 (using document or electronic record knowing to be forged) of the Indian Penal Code. Since RGM College comes under the jurisdiction of Agali Police Station, the case was later handed over to Agali Police Station. Police detained Vidya on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, from Meppayur in Kozhikode. Vidya was taken away from her friend’s house in Meppayur around 7 pm. Police said they managed to nab Vidya with the help of mobile phone calls and the location of the tower where Vidya’s friends were staying.
Booking roster manipulation
The SC/ST panel of Kaladi Sri Sankaracharya Sanskrit University regarding the admission of Dr K Vidya has reportedly revealed that the reserved roster was manipulated during the 2020 admission process. The report also revealed that the vice-chancellor’s office intervened in the admission of Dr K Vidya. this matter. Therefore, Dr. Bichumaleil withdrew from his academic association with K Vidya while pursuing his PhD in the university unless Vidya proved his innocence. According to reports, Vidya used her forged experience certificates from Government College of Arts and Sciences, Kinanaur, Kalindalam, Kasaragod to get the post of guest lecturer.

- The Congress party accused Vidya of using political connections to obtain forged documents as she was an SFI activist while studying at Maharaja College. However, Education Minister R Bindu claimed that the seal on the certificate was fake and the college had nothing to do with it.
- K Vidya was arrested 15 days after filing the complaint and police confirmed that she beat up the senior student using fake certificates to secure a job at Karintalam Government College, Kasaragod. Her rival was senior K. Rasitha, who recounted how forged documents helped her get a job in college. Among all the candidates shortlisted for the post, Vidya was ranked first and Rasita was ranked second. If Vidya did not submit fake documents, Rasitha would have been able to get the job at the college.
- According to sources, K Vidya created forged documents on her mobile phone. She made the fake seal and the entire certificate without anyone’s help. Both the college seal and the title seal are created using the CamScanner app. The college’s logo was downloaded from Google.
- The police retrieved forged documents from her phone with the help of the internet. They have reportedly destroyed all of her original forged certificates.
- Vidya was earlier arrested by Agali police but was granted bail on certain conditions. However, she was arrested again in the Kasaragod case.
- During the interrogation, Vidya became restless and was taken to the hospital. Doctors claimed it was due to excessive dehydration and she wasn’t feeling well.
