Kanika S Ahuja was born on Wednesday 7 August 2002 in Patiala, Punjab (20 years; until 2022). Her zodiac sign is Leo. She completed her studies at Sri Aurobindo International School in Patiala, Punjab. She studied for a Bachelor of Arts (BA) at the Amritsar Hindu College, Dhab Khatikan, Amritsar, Punjab. Kanika was a national level skater before becoming a professional cricketer. Impressed by her steady performance, the school’s cricket coach suggested that she should choose cricket instead of ice skating. She became a regular on the varsity team and was selected to the district girls’ team. At fifteen, she took a break from cricket due to an injury. She was diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and a torn posterior cruciate ligament (PCL). After the injury, her family asked her to stop playing cricket and focus on her studies. She said in an interview that she had moved from Patiala, Punjab, to Chandigarh, India, for medical treatment. She hid her true intentions from her family and told them that she was moving to Chandigarh, India, to focus on her studies. She added that after her injury, she took her dream of being a cricketer more seriously. Her friends and family affectionately call her “Kannu” and “Tommy”. When Kanika first started playing cricket, she trained at the Central Cricket Academy in Patiala, Punjab.

She is captain of the Punjab women’s cricket team in the under-16 and under-19 age groups. After a series of positive performances in the regional team, she was included in the Punjab women’s team and became a key player for the team.
