Ronnie Platt shares an update about his cancer treatment in progress.
On Tuesday, March 4, 65-year-old Kansas posted the main singer on Facebook and discovered that he returned home and managed well after undergoing an outpatient surgery to treat his thyroid cancer.
“I’m home! The doctor said my surgery couldn’t go better !!! “He wrote.” I felt the power of all prayers and positive energy! You all helped me through this, how can I do? Or can I? Thanks to all of you for that !!! ???? ”
“First Day of Recovery I’m here !!!” He continued. “I look forward to coming back to what I do best! Yes, singing, but my real job is fun all of you and helps you at least a few hours forget about your problems and fill the batteries. I’m a lot of pride in that !!!! Thanks again to everyone, continue !!!! ”
On February 20, Platt shared that he and his doctors feel optimistic about his treatment and recovery ahead of surgery.
“So far, the prognosis has been very good,” he said. “I look forward to what I will come behind and return to the saddle as soon as possible. I appreciate the outpouring of the support I received. ”

Platt first announced that his thyroid cancer had been diagnosed on February 15th.
“You ask you all, my thyroid cancer is diagnosed on Tuesday, but before everyone is excited, there is 99% of the survival rate, that has not expanded,” he wrote on Facebook. “It is contained on my thyroid. I just have to remove the thyroid. Go through for a while rehab and be right in the saddle.”
According to the Mayo Clinic, “Thyroid cancer may not initially cause any symptoms. But as it grows, it can cause signs and symptoms, such as swelling in the neck, change of voice and difficulty swallowing.”
The musician thanked the fans for their support after the iconic rock band was forced to delay and cancel multiple shows.
“I sincerely appreciate everyone’s positive thoughts and prayers,” Platt continued. “I have some absolutely amazing people to hit me !! As I put it on, this is just a rush on the road and it will be behind me very soon! Well all please continue!   ”
Kansas was formed in 1973 and is known for hits such as “Continue with his Son” and “Dust in the Wind”. Platt joined as the main vocalist of the group in 2014. The latest group album, Absence of presenceIt was published in July 2020.
