The cast The Karate Kid: Where are they now?

Karate Kid: Legends directed by Jonathan Entwistle, best known for his work on the Netflix series The end of the fucking world. Rob Lieber wrote the screenplay and Karen Rosenfelt produced.

The film will hit theaters after the last installment on Netflix Cobra Kai. And as Macchio told PEOPLE in July, he shot two projects back-to-back.

“I went straight from Cobra Kai — actually the closing party, saying goodbye to everyone for a moment — to Montreal and jumped in and shot for a few weeks straight,” he said. “It’s exciting.”

Macchio was coy about sharing any details about the film’s plot, but added, “For me, this was just conveying the honesty and the truth of Daniel LaRusso and what Miyagi, his mentor, meant to him, and paying it forward.”
