In one of his YouTube videos, he shared that he had had several girlfriends before marrying Manisha Malik in 2018, namely Rebecca and Chaitali from Mumbai, and Pre from Fiji. In 2016, he met Manisha from Haryana. After dating for nearly two years, the couple got married in a court marriage under the Special Marriage Act in 2018. In an interview, he spoke about getting married. He said,
I was staying in a hostel at the time, and the day before I met her parents, I told a hostel mate about the upcoming meeting. He suggested that I touch their feet when I met them. He couldn’t have been more right! When I met them the next day, I immediately bent down and touched their feet, and they were grateful for my gesture. To them, it meant that I could fit in with an Indian family. My wife is from Haryana, so the Haryanvi culture is strong in the family, and they were happy to have me be a part of it. ”

After graduation, he joined the Recording Industry Association of New Zealand in December 2006. In 2008, he joined the New Zealand Anti-Piracy Alliance as an anti-piracy investigator. He was subsequently promoted to the anti-piracy manager of the organization. From June 2012 to July 2014, he served as the digital services manager of Sony Music Entertainment New Zealand. In June 2016, he joined the New Zealand Technology Future Lab as a network and security technology specialist.
After quitting his job, he moved to India permanently in 2016. He then created a YouTube channel of the same name, uploading travel-related videos, tips for foreign tourists, and family vlogs. Later, Carl and YouTuber Jim Browning teamed up with the BBC Panorama team to conduct a scam operation. They hosted a show that exposed a scam at a call center in Gurgaon, Haryana, which targeted computer illiterate and elderly people in the UK and the US.
As a YouTuber, he has gained huge popularity and his videos have been awarded silver and gold YouTube play buttons. As of May 2021, his YouTube channel has 1.57 million subscribers.

In July 2021, the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs blacklisted him and banned him from entering India. In a statement, the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs said he had violated the terms and conditions of his visa. The ministry said,
He was found to be engaging in business activities on a tourist visa and in breach of other visa conditions.”
Subsequently, Locke’s wife Manisha Malik filed a case in the Delhi High Court, challenging the Indian government’s action against her husband. The YouTuber also tagged New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern in the tweet and sought her help.

Long time ago, when I heard about Tablighi Jamaatis donating plasma, I made up my mind that if I got infected, I would also donate. So when I recovered, I went to the clinic and was amazed by the facilities and hygiene. It was a fairly simple and safe procedure.”
