Karnataka State Exam 2024: The Karnataka Education Board will do away with SSLC and PUC supplementary exams and instead introduce three annual exams for SSLC and PUC students. At present, the board conducts make-up examinations for students who fail in one or two subjects in the Karnataka SSLC and PUC examinations.
According to reports, experts suggest that this has created more stress and anxiety among students, affecting student retention, meaningful learning and academic progress. With that in mind, the board is ready to change the system.
In the revised exam module, students will be given the opportunity to improve their results by keeping the best grades achieved in the first, second and third exams and provide better opportunities in the selection process for further studies.
Experts also believe that renaming the supplementary exams as Exams 1, 2 and 3 will provide students with an opportunity to promote overall success and a positive attitude.
The decision to introduce a three-exam system was also made considering that the pace and learning styles of students are different, and conducting three exams can help them adapt to their learning pace and reduce the stress caused by time constraints.
