Kate Middleton’s Uncle Predicts on Celebrity Big Brother U.K. That Prince Harry Will ‘Come Back and Be Part of the Gang’

Kate Middleton’s uncle Gary Goldsmith has shared with us how “sad” it is that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have taken a “step back” as senior royals.

During Celebrity Big Brother UK Season 23 premiere, Goldsmith, 58, shared his thoughts on the royal family. When asked by fellow contestant Louis Walsh if he can talk about them while in the Big Brother House, Goldsmith replied, “I can speak my mind about anything unless I have a red laser dot on my chest.”

Goldsmith, the younger brother of Princess of Wales mother Carole Middleton, explained to Walsh that while he believed “Harry was really, really loved, massively loved”, he thought Harry, Kate and Prince William had a dynamic between them. He added that they “looked very comfortable together.”

Goldsmith said adding another person to the trio “puts the stick in the middle and creates so much drama that I really don’t think is there and rewrites history and said he’s unhappy [Harry] was, and I don’t think that’s fair.

“You can’t throw your family under the bus in such dramatic fashion and write books about it and then expect to be invited for Christmas,” he added, alluding to Harry’s statement Spare.

“I just think it’s really sad,” he continued. “At some point, I think he’ll come back and be part of the gang.”

“It might take. I think we are a very forgiving nation. I think everyone will give him another chance,” he added Big Brother competitor. “I think the meanest thing I said was, ‘He wouldn’t be in my pub quiz team’.”

Goldsmith also shared his perspective on what it’s like to be related to a princess. “Do you want the absolute truth? I didn’t vote for it; that happened to me, and then suddenly you’re in the spotlight,” he explained.

“They call me ‘Buncle,’ a bad uncle; apparently every family has them. It’s hard to get hold of Kate at the best of times and she has kids and I love the fact that she puts family first,” Goldsmith continued.

He went on to praise his niece and the prince: “She and William are the saviors of the royal family. Although I will say, Charles did a spectacular job.”
