“I would have suffered dramatically if I hadn’t brought my mom and sister with me,” she said of her recent promotional tour for her book, Good night, sisterwhere she was joined by mom Maria Shriver and sister Christina Schwarzenegger to help take care of her two daughters.

“I’m a big believer — I feel like on Instagram we see all these moms who are like, ‘I’m doing it all, I’m doing it all, I’m doing it all by myself,’ blah… blah, and I’m like, ‘I don’t want to do it all by myself,'” Schwarzenegger Pratt said.

She continued, “I want to lean on my sister, I want to lean on my mom, I want to lean on my girlfriends, my mom friends. I want to be honest and transparent and also say, ‘I can’t do this today. My child is sick.’ She was up all night until she was teething. I have to be a mom now.”

“So I think being open about the fact that you don’t have to do everything, you can rely on people, you can ask for help from others and be okay with that. That’s, I think, such a huge struggle for women in general, but I think , especially if you’re balancing multiple roles, to say, ‘I need help today,’ and that’s fine,” she concluded.
