Mary-Margaret Humes wishes her Dawson’s Creek Costar Katie Holmes Happy Birthday!
“In a world full of muffins… You are one sparkly cake!!!” former television mom (69), started an Instagram tribute to Holmes, who turned 45 on Monday. “🧁Happy birthday dear friend @katieholmes We love you so much ❤️❤️😘😘 #dawsonscreek #tvfamily #foreverfriends 🍷🍷.”
Humes shared two photos of the ladies together. The first was a throwback image of them sitting together smiling and looking at a cookie with a single candle on top.
The second photo appears to be more recent and shows the couple laughing together over a glass of wine.
“Thank you very much! You are always so kind!” the Batman begins the actress commented on the post.
Holmes and Humes in the teen drama series that follows a group of friends living in the fictional town of Capeside, Massachusetts. The show was shown from January 1998 to May 2003.

The hit series also starred James Van Der Beek Dawson’s CreekDawson Leery, Michelle Williams as Jen Lindley, Joshua Jackson as Pacey Witter and Kerr Smith as Jack McPhee. Humes played Dawson’s mother Gail, while Holmes played his friend Joey Potter.
‘Dawson’s Creek’ Cast: Where Are They Now?
Over the years, the cast has remained close.
In March, Van Der Beek, 46, revealed that Humes still plays an important role in his life, especially on his birthdays.
“Every year since my mother died, [Humes] she makes me cookies and sends them to me on my birthday,” the actor captioned the clip on his Instagram Story at the time. “I have the best TV mom on the planet.”

“Okay guys, what do we have?” he asked his kids in a cute video. “From Margaret, every year, on my birthday.”
Later that month, Humes was on hand to support Holmes in her off-Broadway performance Wanderers.

“Thank you @thereal_margaretmaryhumes and @johnwesleyshippjr for your support and love!” the Alone together the actress wrote on her Instagram Story as old friends were joined by John Wesley Shipp, who played Humes Dawson’s Creek TV husband Mitch Leery and friend JC Alvarez.
During ATX TV’s Mother Knows Best: A View at ’90s TV Moms panel in March 2021, Humes talked about whether or not fans will ever see the Capesiders together on television again.

“All the actors are sending me secret text messages,” she said. “Katie Holmes and I talked about it at length. James Van Der Beek and I talked about it.”
“I actually wrote about 190 pages of ideas for the crossover until the reboot,” Humes continued. “Whether it’s going anywhere, I don’t know. But there’s certainly a lot of talk about it.”
