These proposals were made by a fringe lobbying group called America’s Frontline Doctors (AFLD), which is known for spreading false information and conspiracy theories. The group is closely related to the Tea Party Patriots, a group that supports Donald Trump and whose SuperPAC has generated millions of dollars for Republicans. In July, Trump posted video of an AFLD press conference that was removed from most social media sites for spreading dangerous rumors.
