Katie Holmes’ High-Heeled Mules Are a Dressier Version of Meghan Markle’s — and They’re Not Too Tall

I have a new homework assignment thanks to Katie Holmes: I have to recreate one of my new favorite style moments from her. And luckily for me, it’s not hard work, nor is it something I do have working at home — it’s actually so much fun to play dress-up.

On Monday, the 45-year-old smiled for the cameras on the streets of New York in a floral mock neck blouse, relaxed black jeans and a pair of mules with a low heel that reminded me of Meghan’s comfy shoes. Markle wears, just a tad cuter.

And like many of us, she couldn’t leave the house without her purse. She recently showcased her collection of large bags, but this time she returned to the more compact style she wore in April and last December: a sleek shoulder bag, which Jennifer Garner also owns.

Covering the door in fall and winter just comes naturally at this point. However, I don’t want to feel sweaty or restricted, so a mock turtleneck or a more airy turtleneck is the kiss of the chef.

I have jeans in almost every color, except black, myself need a pair for autumn. These are a subtle way to try out a pair of skinny jeans, as the leg isn’t that over the top, and actually looks like a comfortable pair that I wouldn’t mind wearing for hours on end. They come in sizes 24 to 35, plus regular, tall and petite inseams.

What I love most about the Holmes bag is the fact that it looks like both a shoulder bag and a shoulder bag. The strap is long, but the bag doesn’t hang all the way on her hips — and this one from Amazon can do the same. It comes with two straps, so you can carry it exactly where you want, and the little gold details even remind me of those seen on designer bags.

Kids’ heels, like the ones on these $50 mules, give me the same unstoppable feeling as a pair of 6-inch heels, but the only difference is that I can actually walk in them. Plus, they slip on and off and I don’t have to twist or bend my legs to attach the tiny buckle.
